Hello! It's Monday!

This week is Truth and Reconciliation Week. To start off our week of learning, Mme read us the beautifully illustrated book, Meet Your Family.

We then watched the video, "What does it mean to wear on orange shirt?" (Watch the video HERE. (0:00 - 19:30)). We watched this video today so that we understand the meaning behind why we wear an orange shirt to remember Indigenous children who attended residential schools. Students who do not have an orange shirt to wear are invited to participate in the making of orange shirt pins which will take place tomorrow (Tuesday) in the library over the noon hour. The pins will then be available to all students on Wednesday in preparation for Orange Shirt Day on Thursday of this week.

We finished our morning with Science and completed our first Science lab - How many drops of water will fit on the surface of a penny? We completed the 'test' 4 times and, tomorrow, will be calculating the average of our results. Please ask me about the steps of the experiment and about how many drops of water I was able to get on to the surface of my penny! So fun!

 1. Mon Top de Top: Students will be presenting their hand to the class Tuesday and Wednesday. No more time will be given in class to complete this task. Students are encouraged to set aside some time at home to practice.

2. Atomic Volleyball is starting this week! Head to the gym at 12:10 to join! No previous volleyball experience needed - everyone is welcome!

3. ORANGE SHIRT DAY - Students are encouraged to wear an orange shirt on Thursday, September 29.

4. Fitness Club - Interested in working on your fitness? New to Ness this year: a fitness club that will run on Days 2, 4, and 6 at 12:10. Information meeting is Thursday, September 29 at 12:10 in the choir room.
