Positive-Negative Numbers War!

Hello! Happy Tuesday!

Today in Math we practiced comparing positive and negative numbers using a deck or cards.
Red cards represented negative numbers and black cards represented positive numbers.
After filling in our game sheet, we were tasked with the placing all the numbers "en ordre croissant" (from smallest to largest). Please ask me about this activity! Who was my partner? Did I have a strategy for ordering the numbers?

AGENDA

1. Français Tableau d'inspiration - Students are working on writing the good copy of their "buts" (written on cue cards) and the visual portion of their "les buts" writing task - an inspiration board that is being created in Powerpoint (through Office365 online). Students will have one last class to work tomorrow (Tuesday) to complete these tasks. Both tasks are due: tomorrow (Wednesday).
* Le tableau d'inspiration (PowerPoint) should be submitted via Teams.
* The written good copy (on cue cards) and the draft (in the cahier de Français) will be handed in after the oral presentation.
Students are encouraged to spend time at home (especially with presentation practice) to ensure they are ready to go when called upon.

A quick Mme-drawn mock-up of an inspiration board can be seen below. The criteria are written in green. Details of how the students will submit their work in Teams was shared in class this morning.

2. On the horizon: a short Math assessment on "le plan cartésien" and "les nombres entiers" is scheduled for early next week (likely Tuesday). We will review these concepts in class but students are also encouraged to review at home. Completing the tasks in Netmath can also help solidify an understanding of the concepts.

3. Spend some time reading this week! This site has lots of options!

4. Grade 6 Vaccinations (First Dose) - tomorrow (Wednesday)

5. Manga Club - First meeting tomorrow (Wednesday)

6. Club de tricot - Knitting Club! - First meeting tomorrow (Wednesday)

7. Remembrance Day Assembly - Thursday, November 10 at 9:15 am.
Poppies will be distributed in class Thursday morning. Money donations for poppies will be accepted all week, including Thursday morning. Please give what you are able.
