Tuesday: Reading, Tomatoes and the Digit 7.

Hello! Happy Tuesday!

We are back from our Thanksgiving weekend and ready for learning!

This morning we worked in randomized groups at the white board to solve the following problem:

HOW MANY 7’S

If you write out the numbers from 1 to 1000, how many times will you write the digit 7?

Please ask me about my group's strategy. What did we notice? What did we forget about at first? How did we arrive at the final answer?

In Français, we began learning about our daily reading routine, LALALA, and started with 5 minutes of independent reading (LA = Lecture Autonome). We will continue to increase our reading time over the next couple of days until we reach 10 minutes. We will also continue adding additional reading/literacy activities during this block of time when we show we are ready to do so. Stay tuned!

Tomato update: No germinated seeds yet, but we should be getting close! It was pretty chilly at the school over the weekend, but the heat is on in our classroom today which will create a toasty environment for our seeds to grow in. We can't wait to see our plants grow!

AGENDA

1. "Best Bike" permission forms were sent home today. Please sign and return the form as soon as possible (but no later than Thursday, October 13).

2. The École Ness clothing store is OPEN! Woohoo! All orders are done online and will be shipped to school (likely end of November). Store is open until Friday, October 14. Happy Shopping! :)
